PDRM Announces 50% Discount for Samans Tomorrow in Melaka

The PDRM is offering a 50% discount on saman for drivers in Melaka on December 14, 2024, as part of the Program PDRM Bersama Kerajaan Negeri Melaka, taking place at Dataran Pahlawan, downtown Melaka. The campaign will run from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm.

While this discount applies to most traffic offences, it excludes certain types of saman, such as those related to traffic light violations, emergency lane usage, dangerous overtaking, accidents, exhaust modifications, and summonses involving heavy vehicles.

Additionally, summonses tied to Op Selamat operations and non-compound cases, like those requiring court appearances, will not qualify for the discount.

The initiative addresses Malaysia's massive number of outstanding summonses, which currently total about RM6.5 billion nationwide. This is a good chance to pay off that saman you've forgot.

Past campaigns have seen thousands of drivers turning up at police stations to settle their summonses, with having special counters for the elderly, pregnant women, and disabled individuals for more efficiency. PDRM encourages the public to use the MyBayar PDRM app to check and pay summonses in advance, speeding up the payment process and avoiding unnecessary delays.
