Xiaomi YU7 SUV Revealed: China's Ferrari Purosangue with 691 PS

Xiaomi has revealed its second electric vehicle following the success of it's SU7 sedan. Some pictures and key specifications were revealed along with it's name, the YU7.  

With a launch expected in June or July 2025, the YU7 aims to establish itself as a key player in the premium electric SUV market. Drawing heavily on the design language of its sedan counterpart, the YU7 features sleek, tapered headlights, a trapezoidal air intake, and bold, C-shaped taillights that wrap across the rear. 

However, it also embraces the traditional SUV traits like pronounced black body cladding ad sculpted fender vents. It also has a round but sharp design language, particularly at the front and sides where it shows some muscle. People have been drawing comparisons between the YU7 and Ferrari Purosangue because of the muscular front look and side profile, and while I completely agree, who's really complaining?

Measuring 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height, the YU7 is slightly larger than the SU7, while maintaining the same 3,000 mm wheelbase. As for power, the YU7 is powered by dual electric motors with one at the front making 299PS and the other at the rear making 391PS, totaling to a whopping 691PS, surpassing the SU7 Max's performance. Its advanced CATL nickel manganese cobalt battery is expected to provide a range similar to the SU7 Max’s 800 km, which would help alleviate a ton of range anxiety.

Building on the staggering sales of the SU7 sedan which was over 112,000 units since its launch, Xiaomi has high hopes for the YU7 to further increase their sales numbers next year.
