As Chinese New Year approaches tommorow, Perak police have identified 21 accident-prone hotspots to enhance road safety during the festive season.

Among these are KM114-KM117 on Jalan Ipoh-Butterworth, KM1 on Jalan Teluk Intan-Bidor, KM17.5 on Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur near Lubuk Buaya, and KM16 on Jalan Teluk Intan-Hutan Melintang.

In addition to these accident-prone areas, authorities have pinpointed 43 locations susceptible to traffic congestion. Notable among these are the Slim River Toll Plaza traffic light, KM73 on Jalan Teluk Muroh-Sungai Wangi near the Kampung Lumut Kiri traffic lights, the Gopeng Toll Plaza on Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur, and Pekan Selama.

As previously mentioned, Op Selamat 23 will be implemented from January 28 to February 2, 2025 to manage the expected surge in traffic. 250 police officers will be deployed across the state, focusing on ensuring smooth traffic flow and the safety of all road users.

Motorists are advised to remain vigilant, adhere to traffic regulations, and plan their journeys to avoid known congestion areas.
