BMW 2025 Lineup Rework, 330e, iX1 30, iX40 Discontinued, Price Changes
BMW Malaysia has entered 2025 with a reshuffling of its product lineup, dropping several popular models and adjustments to pricing across the board.
Starting with the 3 Series lineup, one of the most notable exclusions from BMW Malaysia’s roster this year is the 330e M Sport plug-in hybrid (PHEV). This locally-assembled model, which debuted in 2023 as part of the G20-gen 3 Series facelift, has been discontinued.
However, other G20 3 Series variants—including the 320i M Sport, 330i M Sport, 330Li M Sport, and M340i xDrive M Sport Pro—continue to be available in 2025. Each of these models now comes with a price increase of RM6,000, or RM7,200 if bundled with the BMW Service Inclusive (BSI) package.
BMW Malaysia’s flagship 7 Series lineup sees some narrowing, with the 750e xDrive M Sport PHEV removed from the catalog. The all-electric i7 xDrive60 M Sport remains as the sole variant available for 2025, which aligns with their bet on a full EV lineup in Malaysia. The i7 also sees a price increase, with its tag climbing by RM7,550 (or RM11,650 with BSI).
The 1 Series lineup, represented by the M135i xDrive hot hatch, has been entirely dropped from BMW Malaysia’s lineup. This move likely sets the stage for the arrival of the next-generation 1 Series, which made its global debut late last year. Similarly, the discontinuation of the M850i xDrive Coupe suggests the 8 Series Coupe might end globally, though the convertible and Gran Coupe variants are expected to remain available for now.
In the electric vehicle (EV) segment, several models have been discontinued. Notably, the iX1 xDrive30 M Sport is no longer available, though its role has been filled by it's sportier brother, the iX2 xDrive30 M Sport. For midsize SUVs, the iX lineup has been reduced to a single variant, the iX xDrive50 Sport, as both the baseline iX xDrive40 and the high-performance iX M60 have been removed.
BMW Malaysia has implemented price adjustments across most of its lineup, with increments ranging from RM1,000 to RM11,000. These hikes extend to sedans, SUVs, and EVs alike. The 2 Series Gran Coupe, for instance, sees both the 218i M Sport and 218i Final Edition variants increase in price by RM3,000 (or RM4,100 with BSI). The 520i and 520i M Sport models in the 5 Series are now RM8,000 more expensive (or RM11,400 with BSI). Additionally, SUVs like the X1 sDrive20i xLine, X4, X5, X6, and X7 have all received price hikes, with the facelifted X7 seeing the steepest increase at RM11,000 (or RM15,200 with BSI). Among EVs, models such as the i5 eDrive40 M Sport and i5 M60 xDrive are priced RM1,000 higher (or RM4,200 with BSI).
