2025 Tesla Model Y Juniper Now Available 

With the sighting of a 2025 Tesla Model Y Juniper facelift without its camouflage just yesterday, the American EV has been soft launched on Tesla’s Malaysia website, with a price tag starting from RM195,450. 

There are 2 variants of the facelifted Tesla Model Y,. The first being the rear-wheel drive entry model that’s priced at RM195,450, which has a single electric motor pumping out 299PS, launching the SUV from 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds. However, the top speed is now lowered to 201km/h from the previous 217km/h.

The second is the Long-Range all-wheel drive model, which is powered by a 264PS electric motor at the rear axle paired with 186PS motor up front, totalling at 450PS. With the extra power, the SUV does the century sprint in just 4.3 seconds. With a price of RM242,450, the range is now 30km more than the previous Model Y, now at 719km. 

In terms of charging, the RWD base model gets DC charging up to 175kW, whereas the AWD version gets the higher 250kW.

Now let’s talk design, the exterior has quite the redesign with entire light bars on both the front and rear. Tesla has also claimed that the new Model Y is now quieter with redesigned body castings, reducing 70 parts into just 1 for fewer gaps. It’s also apparent that the newly designed body is more aerodynamic than before to gain range. 



The standard kit includes blacked out 19-inch “Crossflow” alloy wheels, Tesla’s Basic Autopilot functionality, black interior, and a Stealth Gray paint job. However, buyers have tons of options to choose from. 

Starting with the wheels, where RM10,000 upgrades them to 20-inch “Helix 2.0” wheels. For different paint jobs, Pearl White Multi-Coat costs RM5,000; Glacier Blue for RM7,500, while Ultra Red and Quicksilver are RM11,000.

For the interior, if you feel like pure black isn’t your cup of tea, there’s a RM5,000 option for a two-tone black and white interior.

As mentioned before, Tesla Basic Autopilot comes with the Model Y, but there’s an Enhanced Autopilot package for RM16,000 that includes Auto Navigation, Autopark, and Dumb Summon. Actually Smart Summon (Yes that it’s actual name) is included but will be available at a later date.

If that isn’t sufficient, then the Full Self-Driving package that’s priced at RM32,000 will interest you. Although the functions aren’t available in Malaysia yet, the option includes Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control and Autosteer in city streets, as well as the functionalities from both Basic and Enhanced Autopilot. 

Tesla’s celebrating the launch of the new Model Y with a limited edition Launch Edition for the first batch. Buyers can expect Launch Edition badging on the rear liftgate, puddle light, doorsill plate, charging console wordmark and a black interior covered in vegan suede.

Delivaries for the 2025 Tesla Model Y are expected to start in April, whereas the public launch and preview will probably take place really soon.
