Most Anticipated Racing Games of 2025

Racing fans are eating well this year. With it just being the start of new years, sim racers and casuals alike are patiently waiting for this year’s many racing titles to be released. From confirmed titles, updates to educated guesses, here are some of the most anticipated racing games of 2025.

1. Assetto Corsa Evo

Let’s start off with a bang shall we? Assetto Corsa Evo is possibly the most anticipated racing title of this year, but you probably already know that by now from all YouTube videos. Kunos Simulazioni have been hard at work for over a decade now, and the trailers show the fruits of their labour. 

ACE will feature graphics enhancements, weather adjustments, more cars, better physics, detailed tyre models and local AI traffic. The most exciting feature however, is the enormous open world map that mirrors the real-life town of Nürburg near the green hell, making it the largest roam map at a whopping 1600km². If you’re worried about the modding capabilities, Kunos assured that it will be back and it’ll be even better than its predecessor. I don’t know about you, but I’m copping this on day one.



2. Endurance Motorsports Series

No, it’s not a category name. Despite the title sounding like AI gibberish, Endurance Motorsports Series is a game being developed by French studio Kylotonn, where LMP and GT3 cars battle it out for long endurance races. 

However, it’s not as generic as you think. They’ve thought of an interesting mechanic, where you can swap between driver and race engineer at any point throughout a race. Think of Le Mans Ultimate and F1 Manager 2024 having a baby. Here, you can think of race strategies in the pit, and a button press will set you back into an LMP car ploughing down the Mulsanne Straight. This makes races really unpredictable and fun, though it’s unknown if this mechanic will translate well in multiplayer.The game will be powered by KT engine and not Unreal Engine. 

The game is a refreshing take on a generic premise, which the racing game community sorely needed. I’ll be looking forward to trying this one soon.



3. JDM: Japanese Drift Master

“Uhm, actually JDM means Japanese Domestic Market.” Well done Sherlock, but this is a game title. 

JDM: Japanese Drift Master is a game all about, you guessed it, JDM cars. If you’ve played the demo version, Rise of the Scorpion, you’ll know that the game has good drift physics and handling. Since then, the developers got their hands on actual car licenses to allow real cars in the game, as well as teased the city area on its open world map. It also has a career mode and an online mode for the complete sim-cade racer experience. 



As the Need for Speed franchise is taking a break, this could very well fill the void for many, including me.



4. Tokyo Xtreme Racer

Speaking of games about Japanese cars, Tokyo Xtreme Racer is back from the grave in 2025. The series gained its following with the open world maps that feature the famous Shutoku Expressway, and of course the dozens of JDM legends you could choose from. 

The beloved title met its demise after its last installment in 2017, but the racing game gods have blessed us with its revival that’s planned to release later this year. Currently, there’s only the Need for Speed games that are satiating the thirst for arcade street racers, and just like JDM: Japanese Drift Master, this will do the trick just fine. 



5. Rennsport

This game made waves 2 years ago, as they collaborated with ESL to make one of the largest eSport events the community has ever seen. Rennsport aims to be the next big serious simulator on the market, competing with the likes of iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione. It was in closed beta for awhile now, but the CEO has confirmed that the game will launch in the first half of the 2025. Many are anticipating the game to push new boundaries for sim racing, due to there being not much competition in the market right now. 

Until then however, we can’t really say for sure if it will smash expectations or flop on it. Just know that when it does arrive, sim racers will let their opinions be known.



6. Wreckfest 2 

Loved goofing around with friends in the current Wreckfest? Here’s the second installment of the series. The original Wreckfest is probably one of the most popular arcade racers on the market, with their complex damage model and encouragement of destroying other cars in races. The first iteration had a repetitive career mode but the online community still flourishes to this day. When this game comes out, this is sure to make another splash in the market.

There are so much more racing games coming in 2025, but these were the ones I thought were the most awaited titles. With such a stacked list of games, it seems like all racing enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice this year. From serious simulators to arcade street racers, everyone gets a little love from the racing game gods. So get your setup ready and strap in, because it’s gonna be a thrilling ride from start to finish.
