As promised from the pre-bookings opened last December, the highly anticipated facelifted 2025 Honda Civic finally lands on Malaysian shores today.

Trim options haven’t changed from the four before (1.5L E, 1.5L V, 1.5L RS, 2.0L RS e:HEV), with 3 petrol and 1 hybrid. Pricing for the new Civic starts at RM133,900 OTR minus insurance for the base E, which is RM2,000 more than before. The V remains at RM144,900, whereas the petrol RS is now RM2,000 cheaper at RM149,900. The e:HEV RS retains its pricing at RM167,900.

The new Civics now get unlimited mileage warranty for 5 years, as well as 5 services with free labour under 100,000km/5 years. The e:HEV RS gets an additional 8-year warranty for the battery.

The engine department is a familiar sight with the petrol models still featuring the 1.5 liter turbo VTEC engine. The 4 pot makes 182PS and 240Nm of torque to the front wheels via Honda’s CVT, allowing a 0-100km/h sprint of 8.3 to 8.5 seconds and a 200km/h top speed.

The e:HEV RS stays the same too, with the hybrid system still making 184PS and 315Nm through a 2.0 liter naturally aspirated inline 4 generating power for the electric motors up front. It goes to 100km/h from a standstill in 7.9 seconds, though it has a lower top speed at 180km/h.

With a facelift comes a new front end, with the bumper’s lower section protruding ever so slightly outwards and air curtains replacing the fog lights, making the Civic longer by 3mm while other dimensions stay the same (4,681 mm in Length, 1,802 mm in Width, 1,415 mm in height, wheelbase at 2,735 mm). There’s also a new honeycomb mesh design on the main grille and the lower intake.

Regarding the interior, the Civic now gets the 9-inch Advanced Display Audio as standard across all trims. The new infotainment system has Google directly built-in, allowing buyers to download apps locally through the Play Store and get navigation through Maps without an Android Auto connection. Speaking of which, wireless Android Auto is also added alongside the already available Apple CarPlay.

The standard equipment for the base E Civic includes the 9-inch Advanced Display Audio mentioned earlier, automatic LED headlights and daytime running lights, 16-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, remote startup, walk away auto lock, Normal and Econ drive modes, and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster with an analogue speedometer. Buyers also get single-zone air conditioning, leather upholstery and a leather steering wheel.

The V gets more goodies like paddle shifters, 17-inch wheels, an additional Sport mode, an auto-dimming rear window and electric-powered seats.

Stepping up to the RS, the interior will have suede seat upholstery with red stitching, ambient lighting, alloy pedals and a fancy new wireless charger. The exterior gets blacked out side-mirrors, a spoiler at the boot and chromed tailpipes for that racer look.

At the top of the line, the e:HEV RS gets blue accented Honda logos on the front and rear, a different wheel design and black half chrome door handles. The interior also gets more quality of life improvements like dual-zone climate control, a wireless charger and a 10.2 inch fully digital instrument cluster. It also has Active Noise Control and Active Sound Control for lower road noise while it pumps engine sounds into the cabin for a more sportier drive on your way home from work.

As for safety, the Civic gets 6 airbags with advanced safety mechanisms which include ABS, Vehicle Stability Control, automatic door lock and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

The Civic also gets the Honda Sensing suite treatment that includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, emergency braking assist, forward collision warning, and lead car departure notification.

Paint jobs available for the Civic are Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl and Ignite Red Metallic.
