Perodua Sells Record Breaking 358,102 Units in 2024
With Proton’s sales figures up, Perodua joins the fray with their own sales numbers in 2024 too. According to the report, the second national automaker has sold a whopping 358,102 units throughout last year, topping charts and breaking historical records.
Compared to 2023 (330,325 units), Perodua’s sales figures have seen an increase of 8.4%, with a difference of 27,777 more units. Like Proton, the second national automaker also had a nice end of the year with 32,202 units sold last month.
Incredibly, Perodua has achieved these incredible figures with no new model launches aside from introducing a new paint colour for the Aruz, along with showcasing their EMO-1 and EMO-2 concepts last year.
In addition to sales, Perodua racks another personal best with a production number record too. Their facilities have produced an all-high of 368,100 vehicles, marking a 7.3% increase from 2023’s figures of 343,400.
“We have expanded far beyond our installed capacity of 320,000 units, showcasing dynamic synchronisation in meeting our shared objectives. This achievement shows our true potential and will be the benchmark for the industry in the years to come,” said Perodua president and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
Zainal estimates that Perodua currently takes up nearly half of the Total Industry Volume (TIV) at 44%, which broke the 800,000 unit milestone. He also states that Perodua was the main growth driver of last year.
“We believe 2025 will offer both new challenges and opportunities for us, as well as increased competition from newer automotive brands in the market,” he said.
