As preparation for new years eve, Rapid KL is extending its public transport hours to make celebrations more convenient without worrying about traffic jams. Prasarana announced that trains will run until 3:00 AM on January 1, while select bus routes will operate until 3:30 AM.

The extended service includes key rail lines such as the Kelana Jaya, Ampang/Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur Monorail, Kajang, Putrajaya, and Sunway BRT lines. Major stations like KLCC, Bukit Bintang, Masjid Jamek, and Pasar Seni will remain operational for longer hours, making them the perfect transit spot for the after-countdown partygoers. Train frequencies across all lines will also increase starting from 7:30 PM on New Year’s Eve to accommodate the surge in passengers.

On the bus network, extended routes include critical links between areas like Wangsa Maju, Kajang, Puchong Utama, Taman Sri Muda, and Pasar Seni Hub. Additionally, the Demand Responsive Transit (DRT) service will operate in Putrajaya, Kwasa Damansara, Taman Jasa Utama, and Cyberjaya.

Commuters are encouraged to use Touch 'n Go cards with sufficient balance for seamless travel. Prasarana will deploy over 2,700 front-line staff, including auxiliary police, to ensure safety and smooth operations throughout the night.

With these measures, make sure you plan your journey thoughtfully and celebrate the arrival of 2025 with ease.
