The Customs Department at Thailand has recently implemented a new requirement for Malaysian motorists before they enter the country, and that is to bring their original vehicle grant or be denied entry.

As the holiday season is approaching, many Malaysians are looking for a nice vacation and most of us choose Thailand as our prime destination. With over 32.7 million Malaysians entering Thailand from January 1st to December 8th this year, the country’s popularity is soaring to the moon with no signs of slowing down.

However, before you embark on your well-deserved vacation, do note that the Thai Customs Department is now making it mandatory for Malaysian citizens to bring their original Vehicle Ownership Certificate (VOC) at the 4 checkpoints, which are Padang Besar, Wang Kelian, Kota Putra and Bukit Kayu Hitam.

The Thai Customs Department emphasizes that copies of your VOC will not be valid.

If the owner of the vehicle isn’t present in the car, an authorization letter certified by the Commissioner for Oaths Malaysia written in English will be needed by the driver.

Any failure to comply with these new regulations will result in denied entry to the country, so make sure you remember to bring your vehicle’s VOC before you head out the door!
