Chery Omoda 5 Showcases "Pink Witch Edition" at TGV Bukit Jalil to Celebrate Wicked Movie Release

Chery's Omoda brand has teamed up with Universal Pictures to promote the film adaptation of the iconic musical Wicked. This collaboration includes custom one-of-a-kind wraps for the Omoda 5 SUV and its electric counterpart, the Omoda E5. These wraps feature vibrant pink (5) and green designs (E5), representing the film's main characters, Glinda and Elphaba.

                                                                       
In Malaysia, the Omoda 5 "Pink Witch Edition," inspired by Glinda and featuring Ariana Grande, is currently displayed at TGV Pavilion Bukit Jalil until December 11, 2024. Fans can catch this unique display, although there’s no confirmation if the green-themed Omoda E5, symbolizing Elphaba, will also make an appearance locally.

Omoda 5: A Stylish Entry in the Malaysian SUV Market

Since its local launch in 2023, the Omoda 5 has been positioned as a tech-forward, budget-friendly compact SUV. Powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 156 PS and 230 Nm of torque, it delivers performance suited for urban and highway driving. Priced between RM99,800 and RM118,800, the Omoda 5 also includes premium features like a sunroof, ambient lighting, and advanced safety systems, making it a contender against rivals like the Honda HR-V.

For eco-conscious buyers, the Omoda E5 offers up to 430 km of range with 204 PS, promising an eco-friendly yet pretty powerful ride.

Wicked: A Film With Star Power

The Wicked movie features a stellar cast, including Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. Malaysian Academy Award-winner Michelle Yeoh also plays a pivotal role, alongside Hollywood veterans Jeff Goldblum and Jonathan Bailey. This highly anticipated film brings the beloved Broadway musical to a global audience, highlighting Chery's efforts to align with pop culture and modern lifestyles.
