Simulation racing isn’t just for hardcore car enthusiasts anymore—it’s quickly becoming a popular activity for casual thrill-seekers and gamers alike in Malaysia. Whether you're an experienced sim racer or someone simply curious about virtual motorsports, sim racing cafés are the perfect place to have some fun with your friends.

If you’re hesitant about investing in an expensive rig or just want a fun, interactive outing with friends, these cafés offer an ideal mix of racing simulators and a social atmosphere. In this article, we feature 3 of the most popular sim racing cafés in Kuala Lumpur, where you can experience virtual speed while competing for positions with your buddies.

1) Ctrl + Play

Ctrl+Play is a newer sim racing café company, where they offer decent rigs with Thrustmaster T300s, large monitors and low slung cockpit for an immersive experience. Their game of choice is Gran Turismo 7 and F1 2024, which are perfect for beginners who are just starting out. The atmosphere feels pretty cozy as it's quite dark and has neon lights of specific race tracks on display (Monza in SS15 outlet for example).

Some outlets like their DK Senza location even have drink bars, pool tables and console games if sim racing isn’t enough. Their staff are friendly and attentive, even going so far as to compliment my skills one time when I was racing with my friends. They usually have a lot of price packages during different times so keep an eye out for them on their Instagram page!

Price: RM 25 per hour (DK Senza), RM23 per hour (Setapak and SS15)

Location:  DK Senza, Setapak and SS15.

2) Cove

Located in Sunway and Cyberjaya, Cove Circuit is another great place to race friends virtually. They’re more of a cybercafé rather than a sim-racing specific one but they boast good gear such as Thrustmaster T-GTs and 50-inch 4K Samsung monitors. They have sequential gearboxes but you’ll have to pay more. They have a lot of games to choose from, most notably Gran Turismo 7, F1 2023 and Grid Legends.

The atmosphere is similar to that of Ctrl+Play but the neon lights are a bright red instead. Not only do they have console games, but they also have PC gaming sessions too. This sim racing café is the cheapest among the three on this list and occasionally has promotions for bulk sessions. If you’re a budget conscious person, this is the one I’d recommend the most.

Price: RM 15 per hour (Sim Racing)

Location: Bandar Sunway and Cyberjaya.

3) RaceRoom Simulator Racing Experience

If that name rings a bell to you, you’re probably wondering why a game is on this list. Turns out, RaceRoom Simulator is not only a racing simulator game, but it’s now also a sim racing café that’s located in Subang Jaya! However, be warned as this is the most extreme in terms of the tech in the rigs. From motion simulations, direct drive wheels, load cell pedals and the game physics itself, this is as realistic as it can get.

They also have a time attack leaderboard so you can face off against your friends and sometimes even hold tournaments. Prices are quite steep but they also do price promotions for all day passes. If you’re looking for the ultimate virtual driving experience that money can buy in Malaysia, you’d probably want to give this place a try.

Price: RM30 per session (10 minutes)

Location: Subang Jaya

There's nothing like going fast in a virtual car and racing with your friends, what are you waiting for? Go plan with your friends or try it for yourself now!
