WCE Banting-SKVE toll collection starts Sept 30 – what you need to know
The much-anticipated toll collection on the Banting to SKVE (South Klang Valley Expressway) section of the West Coast Expressway (WCE) is set to begin on September 30, 2024. This move marks a significant step forward in enhancing connectivity between southern Selangor and other major highways, offering an alternative route for commuters and long-distance travelers.
What Drivers Need to Know
Starting Sept 30, motorists using this 20.1 km stretch of the WCE will be required to pay toll fees. The WCE Banting-SKVE stretch links key areas in Selangor, providing easier access to townships like Banting, Jenjarom, and Pulau Indah while also connecting to major highways such as SKVE, ELITE, and NKVE.
This section, part of the larger 233 km West Coast Expressway project, aims to alleviate traffic congestion on the Federal Highway and NKVE, offering a faster and more efficient route for daily commuters and cargo transport alike.
Toll Rates
The toll rates will be in line with WCE’s structure, based on vehicle types. Cars, lorries, and motorcycles will all have different charges. You can expect the toll system to be electronic only, so make sure your Touch 'n Go or RFID cards are loaded with sufficient balance for a smooth drive through the toll plazas.
How This Benefits Drivers
- Reduced Travel Time: The WCE serves as an efficient alternative to the existing congested routes.
- Seamless Connectivity: Linking several major highways makes commuting easier.
- Enhanced Safety: The WCE features better road safety standards, with well-lit lanes and clear signage.
Whether you’re a daily commuter or an occasional traveler, this new toll collection system is sure to impact your journey. Remember to top up your toll cards and drive safely!
