PLUS Sedenak to Senai gets additional lane, construction starts June 28th
The North-South Highway (PLUS) is about to get a major upgrade! The Sedenak to Senai stretch in Johor is slated to receive an additional lane, easing traffic flow for the nearly 90,000 daily users.
The project, starting June 28th, 2024, will see the highway widen from two to three lanes northbound. This is Phase 1 of the Sedenak to Senai (northbound) highway expansion project, and construction is expected to last 36 months.
Here's what you need to know:
Improved Traffic Flow: The additional lane aims to significantly reduce congestion on this busy route.
Minimal Disruption: Thankfully, PLUS assures drivers that the initial construction phase will not disrupt traffic flow. Both existing lanes on both northbound and southbound sides will remain open throughout this period.
Project Phases: This project is part of a larger initiative to improve the Sedenak to Senai highway. More information on subsequent phases is likely to be released by PLUS in the future.
Looking Ahead
This expansion project is a welcome development for motorists traveling between Sedenak and Senai. The additional lane promises smoother journeys and reduced travel times. We can expect further announcements from PLUS regarding the complete project timeline and potential future traffic diversions (if any).
