RON97 petrol price remains stable for week two of May 2024 (RM3.47 per Litre)
Malaysian drivers filling up with RON97 this week can breathe a sigh of relief, as the Ministry of Finance announced no change in the price for the second week of May 2024. This means motorists will continue to pay RM3.47 per litre for premium fuel.
The announcement, made on Wednesday, follows the same trend as the first week of May, where RON97 prices remained steady. This consistency provides some welcome stability for drivers facing fluctuating global fuel costs.
The price update applies not only to RON97 but also to other fuel categories. RON95 remains capped at RM2.05 per litre, a price set by the government in February 2021. Diesel prices see no change either, with Euro 5 B10 and B20 blends staying at RM2.15 per litre, while Euro 5 B7 stays at RM2.35 per litre.
The Ministry of Finance typically announces fuel price updates every Wednesday, with the new prices taking effect the following Thursday at midnight. This weekly update system allows the government to adjust prices based on global oil market fluctuations.
