Optimizing your Hari Raya travel plans: SmartLanes activation and toll-free dates
With the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays approaching, PLUS Malaysia is gearing up to ensure smoother travels for highway users. The highway concessionaire has announced the activation of additional SmartLanes along the North-South Expressway (NSE) to accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic during the festive season.

SmartLanes Activation
During this period, a total of 18 SmartLanes will be operational on the NSE, strategically distributed across the northern, central, and southern regions. Motorists can expect three SmartLanes in the northern region, nine in the central region, and six in the southern region. Detailed locations can be found in the accompanying images.
Toll-Free Dates
In further facilitation of holiday travel, the Ministry of Works has declared toll-free days on April 8 and 9, 2024. Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi announced this decision following a Cabinet meeting in February. The toll exemption will be in effect from 12:01 am on Monday, April 8, until 11:59 pm on Tuesday, April 9.
This toll waiver applies exclusively to Class 1 vehicles (private vehicles) at all toll plazas except those situated at national borders, such as the Tol Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) and the Plaza Tol Tanjung Kupang (Linkedua – Second Link).
