Audi's 2025 Q6 E-Tron: Unveiling Audi's Electric Vision
The launch of the new Audi Q6 E-Tron reveals Audi's cutting-edge Premium Platform Electric architecture, also found in the Porsche Macan EV, now adorned with Audi badging for the first time. Operating on an 800-volt system, this architecture features dual electric motors biased towards the rear, optimizing both power and vehicle weight distribution.
Upon release, the Q6 E-Tron will offer two trims: the standard Q6 and the performance-oriented SQ6. Both variants come equipped with a 100-kWh (94.9-kWh net) battery pack. Later, Sportback trims will be introduced, along with a rear-wheel-drive version aimed at extending range.
In North America, the Q6 E-Tron delivers a combined 422hp, a 40hp increase compared to the European model. The sportier SQ6 boasts 483hp, providing enhanced acceleration through launch control. Audi claims the Q6 accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in approximately 5.0 seconds with launch control, while the SQ6 achieves this in just 4.2 seconds.
The standard Q6 E-Tron boasts an estimated range of 482km, with SQ6 range estimates pending. Both trims share the same battery, with the SQ6 likely offering slightly less range. Noteworthy is the Q6 E-Tron's 800-volt charging capability, enabling 10 to 80 per cent charge in just 21 minutes using a DC fast charger capable of pulling 270 kW.
Engineered on the PPE architecture, the Audi Q6 E-Tron optimizes electric packaging while delivering robust driving dynamics. Notable features include front control arms positioned ahead of suspension arms for improved battery positioning and a fixed steering rack for enhanced control. Additionally, wider rear tires enhance performance.
In addition to performance, the Q6 E-Tron integrates advanced technology, including the E3 (End-to-End Electronic) architecture powered by AI. This system manages various Android-based systems and offers proactive suggestions based on learned behaviors. The SUV also features digital screens, including an 11.9-inch driver display, a 10.9-inch passenger screen, and an optional augmented-reality heads-up display.
Pricing details for the 2025 Audi Q6 and SQ6 E-Tron models will be announced closer to the on-sale date.
