Tesla Model Y Launches in Malaysia from RM 199,000

Tesla Model Y SUV has officially debuted in Malaysia today at their launch event in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. On offer are three variants of the Model Y, Rear-wheel drive, Long Range and Performance. Prices start from RM199,00, RM 246,000 and RM 288,000 respectively.

The mid-sized Model Y offers 2.1 cubic meters of cargo space and seating for up to 5 passengers with their belongings. WIth ultra responsive motors, the Performance model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and a WLTP range of up to 533 kilometers. Delivery of the Model Y is expected to begin in early 2024. 

Tesla has installed the first indoor Supercharger station with a total of 8 Supercharger stations at Level B1, Pavilion KL. The DC Superchargers can charge a Model Y at a peak efficiency of 250 kW. This equates to about 120 km in just 5 minutes of charge.

In total, Tesla has plans to place 9 other Supercharger stations at:

• Iskandar Puteri, Johor
• Dengkil, Selangor
• Petaling Jaya, Selangor
• Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur
• Pavilion Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur
• Ipoh, Perak
• Perai, Pulau Pinang
• One unnamed location in Negeri Sembilan
• Two unnamed locations in Kuala Lumpur
