Mazda has released yet another teaser of the new CX-90 along with a release date, 31 January 2023.
The Japanese manufacturer has been teasing the CX-90 since November, part of the Large Product group that includes the CX-60, CX-70, and CX-80.
The latest development announced in the teaser would be the inclusion of a 3.3 litre turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine in the United States that is paired with a 48-volt mid hybrid system that will generate 500Nm of torque and 340 horsepower. In comparison, the Australian spec CX-60's e-Skyactiv G mill generates 500Nm of torque at 280 horsepower.
The CX-90 will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain and would potentially generate 500Nm of torque with 323 horsepower if it uses the same setup as the CX-60. Mazda has also confirmed that their Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) will also be a standard inclusion in all variants of the CX-90 in the US.
With regards to styling, the CX-90 seems to take a lot of inspiration from the CX-60 with its body displaying similar design cues as well as lighting features that are present in the CX-60.
Stay tuned for more news about the CX-90 when it gets released later this month!
