Hyundai Malaysia has revealed a line of models that will be brought into Malaysia soon, potentially in 2023.

The Ioniq 6 was accompanied by 3 Hyundai SUVs, namely their Santa Fe, Creta, and Palisade models. 2022 saw a large variety of electric vehicles or EVs being released or introduced here in Malaysia, from GWM's Ora Good Cat to Volvo's recent launch of the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric. The arrival of the Ioniq 6 is in line with this rise of EVs here and Hyundai will be hoping it will follow its predecessor, the Ioniq 5's positive reception in Malaysia.

The Ioniq 6 is slightly smaller than the Ioniq 5 measuring 1.88m wide and 1.495m tall with a 2.95m wheelbase. However, it is longer than its younger brother at 4.855m. The Ioniq 6 also boasts a streamlined body shape that helps reduce the drag coefficient to a lowly 0.21, allowing it to run at a consumption rate of 13.9kWh/100km, one of the lowest in the market today.

Its 77.4 kWh battery can be configured with a single-motor, rear-wheel drive, or a more powerful dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup. The latter boasts 605Nm of torque and up to 320 PS. You can expect an all-electric driving range of about 610km. The Ioniq 6 matches the Ioniq 5's 10-80% charge time of 18 minutes, thanks to a similar E-GMP platform that supports 400 V charging.

Currently, the Ioniq 5 is priced from RM207k to RM270k. We reckon the Ioniq 6 won't be too far off that ballpark.
