Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric: Arriving in December!
After being spotted in Shah Alam during testing, the Volvo C40 Recharge EV is set to be launched next month on the 14th of December and will be available as a CKD model in line with Volvo's aim to turn Malaysia into an EV hub.
Think of a sportier version of the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric and that's what Volvo's new C40 practically is with its cool coupe roofline accompanied by distinctive roof spoilers and wings on the tailgate. Its LED taillights were also reworked to be more compact.
Other than its arguably better looks, the C40 is also quicker than its XC40 counterpart, going from 0 to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds, edging out the XC40 by 0.2 seconds though they are both backed by the same dual-motor P8 AWD electric powertrain.
It has a total output of 408 PS together with 660 Nm of torque and is backed by a 78 kWh lithium-ion battery mounted underfloor. It takes about 40 minutes to achieve a 0-80% level state of charge using CCS2 DC fast charging, although Type 2 AC charging is also possible.
Pricing for the new EV hasn't been confirmed but it's safe to say that it will cost slightly higher than the XC40's 2023 model which is priced at RM278,888. If you're looking for a ballpark figure, we'd say the C40 is very likely to be priced around the RM300,000 mark.
Stay tuned to find out more about the C40 and more!
