2023 GWM Ora Good Cat EV: Finally Here in Malaysia!
After finally featuring in public for the first time earlier this month, the 2023 GWM Ora Good Cat EV has finally been launched here in Malaysia!
Great Wall Motors (GWM) debuted the Ora Good Cat EV earlier this month (Nov 11) at the Malaysia Motor Expo (MME) held at the KL Convention Centre. The highly anticipated model amongst GWM's lineup for Malaysia has received over 100 bookings since order-taking began a few days back— despite final pricing only being revealed next week!
Variants
There will be four Ora Good Cat variants— Tech, Pro, Ultra and Ultra G. All four models will feature front-mounted electric motors rate at 143 PS with 210 Nm of torque.
Range (NEDC)
If you get the Tech or Pro variants, you will enjoy 400km of range thanks to the 47.8 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery available. These two variants will take eight hours to get to full charge via AC (Type 2 connection) input. It will take 46 minutes to go from 0 to 80% state of charge via DC fast charging (CCS2 connection).
The Ultra and Ultra G variants offer up to 500km in range thanks to its larger 63.1 kWh ternary lithium battery. A full charge via AC charging will take about 10 hours while a 0 to 80% DC fast charge will take about 40 minutes.
Colour
The Tech variant's interior is decked out in black fabric while its higher-end counterparts will have synthetic leather. It will also be equipped with 17-inch steel wheels as opposed to 18-inch alloy wheels the other variants possess. In terms of colour options, the Tech variant will also be limited to Sun Black and Hamilton White. The Pro and Ultra variants will be available in the aforementioned colourways as well as Coral Blue and Mars Red. Ultra G will have an additional variant exclusive colour option of Hazel Wood Beige and Verdant Green.
Features
All variants come with the now-standard goodies when it comes to features such as autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control. Higher end variants get bonus goodies such as a 360-degree camera system, auto-sensing wipers and electric panaromic sunroofs to name a few.
Price
As mentioned, final pricing will only be announced next week. However, the fully electric hatchback is expected to cost about RM150k to RM160k, a highly competitive figure in comparison to competitors such as the Hyundai Kona Electric (RM156,538) and the upcoming BYD Atto 3 (expected~ RM150k)
