The East Coast Expressway (ECE), also known as Lebuhraya Pantai Timur (LPT), is actually comprised of two main sections: LPT1 and LPT2. Together, they form a vital expressway connection on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

  • LPT1: This 174-kilometer section runs from Karak, Pahang to Jabur, Terengganu. Managed by ANIH Berhad, it was completed in 2004 and provides a high-speed alternative to the older Federal Route 2.
  • LPT2: This 184-kilometer section picks up where LPT1 ends and continues to Kuala Terengganu. Completed in 2011 and managed by Lebuhraya Pantai Timur 2 Sdn Bhd, LPT2 further improves connectivity along the east coast.
